List of problems faced by typical dual nozzle Dual extruder

Typical dual extruder have two nozzle having around 20to 50 mm space between. Below are the list of problem faced due to the space in between,

  1. Oozing other Nozzle – While one nozzle is printing , other nozzle oozing due to high temperature. When 2nd nozzle start printing, its plastic ooze stuck with object wall, which affect the object appearance.
  2. Height Level – The primary nozzle is keep generally lower than secondary nozzle. if both nozzle is kept at the same height level , it may chance other nozzle hit with printing object if warping happen.
  3. Transition Time – Printing in dual nozzle adds transition time in the printing time. more the distance between nozzle, higher the printing time. distance between nozzle, higher the printing time.
  4. Shifting of both the color – Generally distance between nozzle need to add in the firmware. If the distance is not accurate or disturbed, both the color do not print in proper alignment, and it seems shifting of both color. This cause the object weakened at the boundary of the colors.
